A Successful Kickstarter and the Future!


Well it happened! We finally finished our Kickstarter and met our funding goals. (Even currently, we have received all backer's payments and are just waiting for surveys to begin to be filled.) So what does this mean for CardTD? 

As no stretch goals were met we will be going forward with an expanded version of the game but with a little less bells and whistles than could have happened. Our current goals for the game are listed in our Kickstarter but I will also give the general idea here. 

Currently CardTD doesn't really have any characters, but the full game will have three! This is a vector that is pretty unexplored for us but we plan to make it so that a character would somehow modify gameplay or goals for the player.

Next up we have the levels that we are planning, currently the main idea is that we will have 4 worlds with 3 levels apiece. We would like each world to have a theme and some minor gimmicks to spice up gameplay. Currently we have one person that paid for the level designer option so one of the levels will be designed by a backer.

Next we have the booster packs. One of the issues that was brought to our attention via playtesters is that there was a lot of information to take in about the cards.  Booster packs would help remedy this by compartmentalizing information.  The game will have a base selection of cards but it will be a cut down version of what the base pool is currently. Players would then be able to select booster packs to add to that pool. Currently we have planned 10 booster packs but the amount of cards in each is something we aren't quite sure about. Two people have backed the card designer tier so two of the cards we will be backer designed.

Anyway, we will do our best to keep people informed about our progress mainly via our Tumblr and Twitter. We will also make sure to provide general progress updates via our Kickstarter page, and do have a Discord if you want to have a more direct line of communication to us. That's about it, we look forward to making this game much more realized!
